On the heels of winning its third consecutive Grind Session World Championship this past weekend, Prolific Prep moved back into the top five in the latest ESPN High School Basketball Top 25 team rankings.
On Sunday night, five-star Kansas commit and 2025 Naismith High School Player of the Year Darryn Peterson (2025 ESPN 100 No. 2) led Prolific Prep to a dominant 77-50 win over Canada’s Ft. Erie International. With his future Kansas coach, Bill Self, watching from the sidelines, Peterson recorded 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting and was named MVP of the championship.
While Michigan-bound Winters Grady and junior standout Seven Spurlock helped Peterson orchestrate an unstoppable offensive attack, Washington commit Niko Bundalo (2025 ESPN 100 No. 28) dominated inside.
Prolific Prep now holds a 34-5 overall record heading into the Chipotle Nationals in Fishers, Indiana in April.
“The Grind Session is the best league in the country and we’re so excited to have again emerged on top,” said Prolific Prep head coach Ryan Bernardi after his team completed the three-peat. “As we now set our sights on the Chipotle Nationals, we’d be remiss not to thank the entire Grind Session team for providing our players and coaches an incredible platform to compete against some of the best players in the world.”
