Grind Session Daytona Beach: Day Two Recap

Day two of the Grind Session Daytona Beach event brought high-intensity basketball, standout performances, and nail-biting finishes. With teams from across North America competing, fans were treated to an action-packed day of elite hoops.


Royal Crown Dominates Hamilton Heights

In women’s action, Royal Crown of Canada crushed Hamilton Heights 81-40. The standout of the game was Eunicia Salgado, who recorded a commanding double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Aisse Coulibaly contributed 11 points and 3 rebounds in a tough outing for Hamilton Heights.


DME Holds Off St. Francois Seminare

Coming off a win against Albuquerque Prep, DME faced a well-coached St. Francois Seminare team and secured a 56-44 victory. Gigi Battle dominated on both ends of the court, posting a stellar double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Laura Bilodeau led the Quebec-based St. Francois team with 13 points and 6 rebounds, while Alice Veilleaux made her presence felt with 15 rebounds and 7 points.


Central Florida Edges Albuquerque Prep

In a high-scoring showdown, Central Florida outlasted Albuquerque Prep 73-67. Johanna Flores led the charge for Central Florida with a massive double-double, tallying 27 points and 11 rebounds. Teammate Ndeye Astou narrowly missed a double-double with 18 points and 9 boards. Albuquerque Prep’s Bella Hines dazzled with 39 points and 7 rebounds in a heroic effort, but Central Florida pulled away in the final quarter.


West Oaks Prevails Over Accelerated Prep

West Oaks emerged victorious in a thrilling 77-73 win over Accelerated Prep. Willie Burnett III was the star, dropping 31 points alongside 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Jayden Joseph added 20 points for West Oaks. Accelerated Prep’s Idris Abubakar narrowly missed a double-double with 19 points and 9 rebounds, while Thomas Ruijenaars chipped in 13 points in the loss.


Central Florida Squeaks Past Fort Erie in Power Conference Matchup

Central Florida secured a nail-biting 73-71 victory over Fort Erie (CAN) in a tightly contested Power Conference game. Central Florida showcased balanced scoring with five players reaching double figures, led by Niko Albino’s 14 points. Mahliq Guiseppi-Kitson posted 14 points and 8 rebounds for Fort Erie in the loss.


DME Takes Down Royal Crown in Men’s Play

In an intense battle, DME topped Royal Crown 86-79 thanks to Mikel Brown Jr.’s phenomenal 35-point performance. Trey Simpson III and Nathan Kirk each added 14 points to help DME seal the win. Royal Crown’s Xavier Istomin-Monroe led his team with 22 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.


JJ Sullivan Shines in Balboa Victory

JJ Sullivan delivered a dynamic performance, scoring 24 points to lead his team to victory. Guerdy Jean controlled the boards with 11 rebounds, while Navon Shabazz and Maxandre Calixte added 13 and 14 points, respectively. Balboa’s Travis Musonda put up a valiant effort with 18 points and 5 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to avoid defeat.
