This past weekend, Utah Prep Academy’s gym hosted the final regular-season event of The Grind Session’s 11th season, featuring four thrilling games that set the stage for the upcoming playoffs in Salt Lake City.
Friday Night Matchups:
- Game 1: Ft. Erie International Academy secured a 77-68 victory over DNA Prep. Promis N’Landu led the Canadians with a double-double, recording 21 points and 10 rebounds.
- Game 2: Prolific Prep defeated Central Florida 78-68. Winters Grady was outstanding, scoring 31 points, including six three-pointers. Sophomore center Obinna Ekezie Jr. contributed 16 points and eight rebounds. Despite the loss, Martay Barnes of Central Florida impressed with a 30-point performance.
Saturday Night Showdowns:
- Game 3: DNA Prep edged out Central Florida in a nail-biter, winning 83-82. Jouston Reyes delivered a stellar double-double for DNA, amassing 23 points and 12 rebounds under the guidance of coach Frank Robinson. Teammate Jayden Robinson added 22 points.
- Game 4: Prolific Prep continued their winning streak, overcoming Ft. Erie with a score of 72-61. Gabe Nesmith earned MVP honors with a 17-point contribution, while Promis N’Landu stood out for Ft. Erie, scoring 16 points in the defeat.
As The Grind Session’s regular season concludes, teams now turn their focus to the playoffs, set to commence next weekend in Salt Lake City.
