The 2024-2025 season will again feature more than 30 boys and girls ranked in the Top 100 of the ’25, ’26 and ’27 classes, and the return of the Power Conference.

The Grind Session is expanding for the upcoming season. The winter circuit of elite high school basketbal l events will host 30 events across 17 states, Canada, and Jamaica; substantial growth after hosting just four events in the league’s inaugural year back in 2014.

Both the Grind Session men and women teams will compete at the various events throughout the season, which will officially tip off November 1-3 in Denver, Colorado.

“The Grind Session has taken high school basketball to new heights for more than a decade, becoming the home and proving ground for the nation’s best prospects and teams. Hundreds of teams have participated on the circuit and nearly 3,000 players from those teams have gone on to play collegiate or professional basketball,” said Grind Session CEO Scott Waldrop. “We’re excited about expanding the brand, adding more talented teams and players, and what will be a truly amazing 2024-2025 season.”

Litany of Top 100 Prospects

The 2024-2025 season will feature more than 30 boys and girls ranked in the Top 100 of the ’25, ’26 and ’27.

On the boys side, that includes three Top 10 standouts in the Class of 2025 alone – Utah Prep’s AJ Dybantsa (Consensus #1), Prolific Prep’s Darryn Peterson (Consensus #3), and DME Academy’s Mikel Brown (24/7 #7).

Dybantsa is already widely considered to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft.

Some of the nation’s other top boys recruits who will showcase their skills in the Grind Session this year include: juniors Ikenna Alozie (Rivals #6) of Dream City Christian and Marcis “Baby Shaq” Ponder (On3 #29) of West Oaks Academy, and sophomores Gabe Nesmith (ESPN #6) of Prolific Prep and Academy of Central Florida’s Martay Barnes (ESPN #12), among others.

The Grind Session girls will include a handful of top prospects as well, most notably junior Oliviyah Edwards (ESPN #4) and sophomore De’Andra Minor (ESPN #10).

Grind Session Power Conference

The upcoming campaign will be spotlighted by the return of the Grind Session Power Conference. Launched last year, it will again offer the largest collection of elite boy’s prep basketball programs from the United States and Canada. Anchored by 12 teams from seven states and Canada, the conference will feature 20 top-ranked players from the ’25, ’26 and ’27 classes.

The following teams will compete in the Power Conference:

• Accelerated Prep (Denver, CO)
• Balboa School (Escondido, CA)
• DME Academy (Daytona Beach, FL)
• Dream City Christian (Glendale, AZ)
• Iowa United (Des Moines, IA)
• Fort Erie International Academy (Ft. Erie, ON Canada)
• Prolific Prep (Napa, CA)
• The Academy of Central Florida (Orlando, FL)
• Utah Prep (Salt Lake City, UT)
• West Oaks Academy (Orlando, FL)
• Winston Salem Christian (Winston Salem, NC)

“The Grind Session and its institutions have always made great strides in solidifying a presence on the national hoops scene,” said Waldrop. “The Power Conference is an extension of our evolution as we continue to serve the elite prep landscape in a unique way by helping the best compete against the best and pushing the boundaries of elite amateur sports.”
