The Grind Session Returns to Napa Valley

The Grind Session is set to make its return to Napa Valley for the 20th event of the season, hosted by Prolific Prep. Currently leading the Power Conference with a perfect 13-0 record, Prolific Prep is in pursuit of an unprecedented Grind Session three-peat. Under the leadership of head coach Ryan Bernardi, the team has captured the last two Grind Session championships, and they are in prime position to secure a third consecutive title.

The action kicks off on Friday night at Napa Valley College gym, where Prolific Prep will face Rosemary Anderson from Portland, Oregon. This is Rosemary Anderson’s first season competing in the Grind Session as part of the Elevation Conference. They are led by standout point guard Hunter Carter and scoring threat Quincy Byas, making them a formidable opponent for the reigning champions.

On Saturday night, Prolific Prep will take on DNA Prep from Los Angeles. Prior to the game, Coach Bernardi will take a moment to honor his senior players for their contributions to the program. Winters Grady is set to continue his basketball career at Michigan, Niko Bundalo will be heading to Washington to play under Coach Danny Sprinkle, Mazi Mosley is bound for LSU, and Darryn Peterson will be playing for Bill Self at Kansas. The senior night ceremony will be a special moment to celebrate these athletes before they embark on their collegiate journeys.

The competition continues Sunday as Prolific Prep goes up against Accelerated Prep in a crucial Power Conference showdown. Before tip-off, Coach Bernardi will present McDonald’s All-American jerseys to two of his star players, Darryn Peterson and Niko Bundalo, in recognition of their selection to the prestigious game.

Following the Napa Valley event, the Grind Session will head to St. George Utah for the final event of the regular season before playoffs begin. First round of playoffs will be held in Salt Lake City with the championship weekend taking place in Lawrence Kansas. With the postseason on the horizon, every game counts as teams position themselves for a shot at the championship.
