Grind Session Recap: Day 3 in Phoenix – Final Day

The third day of the Grind Session in Phoenix brought thrilling action and standout performances across the board, with teams displaying grit, skill, and teamwork in front of an energetic crowd.


Phoenix Prep 88, AZ Compass 55 (Women)

Phoenix Prep claimed a decisive win over AZ Compass, showcasing a dominant offensive display. Leading the charge was Dylan Swindle, who poured in 20 points, including three 3-pointers. Teammates Noelle Mulvanny, Caia Campbell, and Emilie Noerregaard-Laursen contributed significantly with 14, 12, and 16 points, respectively.

For AZ Compass, Ivona Djikanovic battled hard, finishing with 12 points. Despite their efforts, Phoenix Prep’s well-rounded performance proved too much to overcome.


Albuquerque Prep 88, Legion Prep 71 (Women)

Albuquerque Prep’s balanced attack led to a hard-fought win over Legion Prep. The team saw five players hit double figures, with Jerriyah Baines shining brightest, scoring 15 points and earning Player of the Game honors. Terry Brooklyn and Maiesha Washington added 11 each, while Kaylie Carr chipped in 12.

For Legion Prep, Bella delivered an incredible individual effort, scoring 37 points and hitting five 3-pointers. Tamaiah “Tink” Gary supported with 18 points, but Albuquerque’s depth secured the victory.


Bella Vista 79, Dream City 30 (Women)

Bella Vista dominated from the opening tip, cruising to a commanding win over Dream City. Ylena Gross led the way with 21 points, while UMASS commit Aiyanna Perkins added 15. The team’s sharp shooting from beyond the arc was a key factor, as they connected on eight 3-pointers. Dianalynn Howell added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the night.

Gross was named Player of the Game, as Bella Vista’s relentless play overwhelmed Dream City.


Dream City 73, Accelerated Prep 47

Dream City continued their winning ways with a strong performance against Accelerated Prep. Coach Kyle Weaver’s squad controlled the game from start to finish, fueled by relentless defense and unselfish ball movement. Jalon Holland stood out with a stellar showing, earning Player of the Game honors.

This win cemented Dream City’s reputation as a force to be reckoned with in this year’s Grind Session.
